Las Americas

2118 East 3rd Street Tulsa
Where can you go to do your laundry, get your hair cut, go grocery shopping and enjoy some pretty good Mexican fare? Las Americas.

That's right. You can actually do all of these activities in the same building.

There aren't many restaurants in Tulsa that can boast this claim.

In fact, if the city of Tulsa were to go on lockdown, this is where I'd want to be. Clean underwear and good food... What else could you possibly ask for.

Just like any other Mexican restaurant, one of the first things delivered to your table will be chips and salsa. Their salsa was obviously not out of a can - it was homemade. It had just enough kick to let your taste buds know that they weren't gonna be able to take a siesta. Pretty tasty.

A friend of ours ordered the shrimp cocktail. Wait! Is one trying to escape? Actually, he worked his way up the corporate ladder and got to serve as the garnish during this shift.

The shrimp are soaking in a cocktail sauce and avocado bath. Even they know avocado is good for your skin.

Okay, enough trying to personify the little guys. You're wanting to know if the shrimp cocktail was good, right? Yes it was. Order it.

Tori went a bit on the lite side and ordered the chicken fajita salad.

"Honey, what do you have to say about the chicken fajita salad?" I asked.

"Really good." She says.

Need I say anything else?

She commented that many restaurants serve a chicken fajita salad that is just too big and not very balanced. They put a ton of lettuce inside a crispy bowl, put a few pieces of chicken on top and call it a chicken fajita salad.

Well, this one was just the right size and very well balanced. On the side were dollops of sour cream and guacamole.

Overall, is was well received by her taste buds.

I ordered the Entomatada Dinner - 2 enchiladas, beef and cheese, topped with sour cream, swiss cheese and their special homemade tomato sauce.

The swiss cheese and homemade tomato sauce arrested my attention. I was not disappointed.

I'm a patsy when it comes to enchiladas. They're usually my go to food when eating at a Mexican restaurant. Needless to say, I've eaten a lot of them.

If you are what you eat, I should be a walking enchilada with legs, teeth and fingernails.

They were simply outstanding. If each of my taste buds could play a musical instrument, I would have had an orchestra in my mouth.

Our honest review of Las Americas Mexican Restaurant Tulsa:

The prices were very reasonable and the food is great. You have to put this on your short list of restaurants in Tulsa to try.
